Kids Cooking with Clippie – Stuffed French Toast

  • 4 slices cinnamon raisin bread (can use any bread)
  • 1/4 cup Cream Cheese Spread
  • 8 slices  Deli Fresh Honey Ham
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. maple-flavored or pancake syrup

 Instructions:

1. SPREAD cream cheese spread onto 2 of the bread slices.

2. TOP with ham; cover with remaining 2 bread slices. Lightly press edges of each sandwich together to seal.

3. BEAT eggs, milk and sugar with fork in pie plate or square baking dish until well blended.

4. DIP sandwiches in egg mixture, turning over to evenly moisten both sides.

5. SPRAY large nostick skillet with cooking spray; heat on medium heat (adult assisted). Add sandwiches; cook 2 min. on each side or until golden brown on both sides. Serve with syrup. Makes 2 servings, one sandwich each.

** Please note these are MY PERSONAL opinions after reading reviews and investigating the company.

Their ads are popping up ALL OVER blogs since their new program was released today, offering FREE Gardening Tools and FREE Kitchen Gadgets for you to trial and keep. Reason being right now blogs that promote these get over a $5 commission each time someone signs up. Since it has shown up to be monetized by bloggers, I have been investigating this program to see if it was legit and something I would share with my members. The negatives I am finding FAR out weigh the positives by 90% Negative to 10% Positive! Members that join their programs can not cancel, keep getting charged, and we are talking HUNDREDS of dollars. PLEASE FOLKS, before joining these investigate them well on your own, I do not want to see any of you get taken like so many people have.

Many moons ago when I was attending Junior High, a new pizza place opened right by our school Rocky Rococo’s!  None of us had ever heard of this pizza, but being teenagers and having a love of hanging out together and pizza we had to try it!  One night after volleyball practice a bunch of us headed over to Rocky Rococo’s to try it out.  Well 25 plus years later, it is still a weekly meal for me! Usually I order delivery, but about once a month we still go to the restaurant to sit down to enjoy the atmosphere and the nostalgic feeling it brings.

 

If I had to choose my favorite product at Rocky’s, I honestly do not think I could pick between the breadsticks or the pizza.
WE HAVE to order the Family size breadsticks which comes with Marinara sauce and Cheese sauce to dunk these AMAZING sticks. (though granted they taste JUST AS GOOD WITHOUT BEING DIPPED)

The Pizza I LOVE is the Sausage, Mushroom, and Extra Cheese Pizza. Typing this is just making my mouth water!  Guess what I think we may be having for supper tonight?  They also have a new Sweet Sticks…We tried the white frosted with raspberry drizzle, and they were AWESOME!  I cannot leave out the Salad Bar (at most locations) & the Pastas (red or white sauce) they offer!

 

What makes Rocky’s Pizza different?
1.  The FRESH dough (white or whole wheat) is made daily using FOUR different rising processes
2.  The 100% REAL WISCONSIN CHEESE
3. The sauce is not too spicy or too sweet, JUST a tangy PERFECT goodness.
4.  Lets not forget their FRESH toppings, including THE BEST hand-pattied Italian sausage you will EVER EAT. (Did I mention their Italian sausage is HUGE)
5.  How about the SIZE of their pizza! They do NOT CUT corners! More pizza for your buck!

My four-year old is starting to take interest in helping my cook.  So I am going to try to make ” Cooking with you Kids”  a weekly blog post with a new recipe each week.  

Another bonding idea is to let your child(ren) have the coupons and list in their hands and let them pick out the items for their special dinner 🙂

 

Mini  Taco Bowls

Ingredients :

8  flour tortillas (6 inch)
1 lb. extra-lean ground beef
 1 cup Thick ‘N Chunky Salsa
1/2 cup \Shredded Cheddar Cheese
2 cups chopped lettuce
1  tomato, chopped
1/4 cup  Classic Ranch Dressing
Preparation:

HEAT oven to 350°F.

MICROWAVE tortillas on HIGH 30 sec. Line each of 8 muffin cups with 1 tortilla. Carefully fold back edges of tortillas, leaving opening in centers for filling.

BAKE 10 min. Meanwhile, brown meat in large skillet; drain. Stir in salsa; bring to boil. Simmer on medium-low heat 10 min.

SPOON meat mixture into tortilla bowls; top with remaining ingredients.

**Kids can help with the tortilla lining and scooping the ingredients into the cups after they cool a bit.

Secret to Keeping a CRYSTAL CLEAR Fish Tank…

Yup, you heard me right…If you want to keep a healthy, clean, fish tank, DO NOT EVER CLEAN IT COMPLETELY! Why you ask? Let me explain…

When you start a fish tank, it is unestablished…YOU DO NOT have any beneficial bacteria in your water to eat the ammonia the fish produce when they go to the bathroom. That is why when you start a fish tank, YOU NEVER want to overload it with fish right away…You only add two or three for the first few weeks, depending on the size of your tank to get the beneficial bacteria built in your tank. If you completely stock your tank right away, within a short time the water will fill with ammonia, get cloudy, and your fish will die off FAST. (Imagine swimming in straight ammonia)

If you add fish to your tank slowly, it gives the beneficial bacteria time to build on the rocks in your tank, and the more and more it builds, the more and more it will eat the ammonia waste of the fish, keeping your water CRYSTAL CLEAR!

Which brings me to cleaning your Fish Tank. SO MANY people make the mistake of cleaning the plants, the rocks, and draining their tank all the way or even half of the way to clean there tank. NEVER EVER do this…You will get rid of all that GOOD BACTERIA that eats the bad!

ALL YOU have to do is get a tank siphon, clean noticeable debris with your siphon once every two weeks ONLY taking the tank down 10 percent with the water and then top it off with fresh water! YOU CAN GO YEARS having a crystal clear fish tank by doing ONLY THIS on a regular basis! Of course you still need to change your filter cartridge as suggested for your filter. In between changes, washing it off helps also.

If right now you have a VERY DIRTY tank… Clean it, BUT DO NOT clean the rocks off, you will lose all that beneficial bacteria. It would also be a good idea in this situation NOT to change the filter out if you are going to start all over. This will leave beneficial bacteria in the rocks and in the filter to give your tank a “Kick Start.”

Did you know?

A few weeks ago, my 2 year old daughter got into my coupon tote,  and DUMPED ALL MY INSERTS OUT, all over the kitchen floor!!!  I was DEVASTATED!!!
I file them as soon as I get them so I know when they’re from , and use post it notes on the dividers, with the date on them…

I was POSITIVE I would NEVER be able to sort them all out and get them back in the right order….. Well, as I was sitting on the floor with Inserts all around me, I picked one up and noticed, in tiny writing on the crease, or “binding”, that there was a DATE!!!

So I looked at all of them, SmartSource, P&G, and RP, and sure enough, they all have it!!!

I went from devastated to ecstatic in seconds!!! Other than the 2 inserts that actually flew all over, the rest took SECONDS to pick up and put back in the right place!!!

Now for those of you that already knew this, LOL YOU ARE QUICKER THAN ME!! But for those of you that didn’t,  don’t feel bad… I have been couponing for a YEAR and just found out!! I am sharing this so that everyone knows what to do in the case of the 2 year old Destroyer VS Your Coupon Inserts 🙂
