Update from November 13th, 2013 The Phone call I just got now was from an “Unknown Number”
Number on Caller Id: New York Call – 1-888-458-9001
This is a SCAM, but because of what they do people are falling for it! PLEASE pass this information on and lets stop them!
When they call they have your name and make you believe they are calling from your computer provider or Microsoft Windows tech support and that there have been reported problems with windows software and just want you to check your computer. They will then give you a run prompt command to do on your computer to check. OF COURSE it is going to pull up this warning, it is part of the windows system! WHEN this warning pops up…WHICH MIND YOU it is just a picture of the warning… but not many people realize this, they say OMG close it quick! Here is what we need to do to get rid of it…and they try and sell you a “software program.”
I did listen to his whole call…I knew it was a scam from my husband warning me about it awhile back…but being in telemarketing in the past, I was curious as to how they were tricking so many people! THEY ARE GOOD! Needless to say he was not real happy with me when I called him out and got VERY disrespectful with me.

whenever we get unsolicited calls I just say “hold on let me get my checkbook” … put the phone down on mute and go about my business … LOL I have had them wait over 20 min… ahahahahha ha =)
I got the same call from 212-000-3459. They called on Friday, five times within two minutes, they would not take no for an answer. They called back on Monday from the same number saying they were from a different company. Same scam. Very obnoxious. When I tried to call 212-000-3459 I find that it is not a real phone number, I don’t know how they manage that.
