Glitter Light Bulb Ornaments

December 14, 2013 By Heather Rodefer Leave a Comment

Glitter Light Bulb Ornaments

Supplies

  • Mod Podge (Can be purchased for around $6 or you can follow this recipe and make your own for around $1.50)
  • Bulbs (Found in the Christmas aisle at Walmart for $0.99 for 4)
  • Paintbrush
  • Wax Paper
  • Glitter (I purchased a pack of 12 assorted colors  for $6.47 at Walmart)
  • Empty container (to catch excess glitter)

Directions

  1. Lay wax paper out on the table
  2. Cover glass part of bulb with a thin layer of Mod Podge
  3. Sprinkle glitter color of choice over the glue covered bulb, catching excess in an empty bowl
  4. Tap off excess glitter
  5. Gently lay your bulb onto the wax paper to dry
Once your bulbs are dried, you can place them in a holiday dish as a center piece, or tie a ribbon around the bottom and hang on your Christmas tree!

*Important note*  Once finished, it is no longer safe to use these bulbs, these are for decorative purpose only!

Here is a fantastic Holiday freebie that you and your children will love! You can watch Santa feed his reindeer daily at 11am, 6PM and 9PM!  On the weekends he is only out to feed them at 6PM.  This will work on your computer but is not compatible with mobile, so make sure you’re on your computer!

Also, make sure you let your little one call Santa after you watch him feed the deer! Call this number: (951)-262-3062 and let your kids leave a message for Santa with their wishlist after he gives a cute message to them!

Making Your Own Paint Letters! Fun & Messy Child’s Craft!

September 18, 2013 By Micki Leave a Comment

Making Your Own Paint Letters! Fun & Messy Child’s Craft!

Right now my preschooler is into learning letters and spelling his name.  So today we took a few simple household items to make these really fun paint letters!

Ingredients Needed:

  • Washable Paints
  • Paint Brushes (could also finger paint!)
  • Tape
  • Large white paper or canvas.  I used white paper sized 18×12.  You can get this in large packs at the Dollar Store
  • Frame

Instructions:

Take your large piece of white paper and make whatever letter you would like.  I used electrical tape because it’s all that we had in the house, BUT it is very easy to bend and it comes off the paper without tearing it if you make a mistake!

Next, let your child PAINT, get messy and be creative! My son loves to blend colors and see what he can come up with.  Make sure they paint the entire paper, tell them you don’t want to see any white left!

Now let it dry.  It will probably take over night or at least 24 hours for it to dry entirely.  You want to be sure that it’s all dry, or when you pull the tape off it will bleed into the white part where you have the tape. After it’s try, peel off the tape very gently.  The best thing about using electrical tape is that it won’t tear the paper when you take it off!  With your finished product, you can grab a frame at WalMart for around $3.97 and display your child’s art proudly!

School has started back up again and if you’re looking for a fun, easy treat for your kids to take to school or for a party, look no farther! These little snack robots will be the hit of your kids classroom or birthday party! Super easy and they won’t break the budget!

Items Needed (This is enough to make 18 robots)

1- Bag of Smarties candies
3- 8 count box of Juice boxes
2- Bags of the mini raisin boxes
3- 8 packs of applesauce cups
1- Box of disposable spoons
1- Bag of google eyes (you can pick these up at any craft store)

To construct the robots, heat up your glue gun and work from the bottom up, starting with the raisin feet glued to the juice box, then use a bit of glue to attach the Smarties candies arms, then tip the applesauce cup upside down and glue it to the Juice box.  Put the spoon across the body of the Juice box and then attach the google eyes on the applesauce cup!

How cute are these little army of Snack Robots?
