Receipt Hog…Earn FREE Money For Your Everyday Shopping!

Are you earning FREE money simply for taking pictures of your grocery receipts?  If you answered no, you sure are missing out!  Receipt Hog is by far one of my favorite money saving apps out there!  It is SO simple!  No specific items to purchase or specific stores to purchase them at.  All you have to do is snap a picture of your receipt and wait for approval and you will be awarded coins!  You can sign up HERE!

RHSo, how do you start earning coins?  Make a purchase at ANY grocer, supercenter, club store, dollar store, drug store, convenience mart, beauty supply or pet supply store – REGARDLESS OF WHAT PRODUCTS YOU BUY!  Click on the “Snap” button on the bottom, take a photo of your receipt and select to upload it.  You can earn up to 100 coins EACH week from receipts.

How much does a receipt earn you?

 * less than $10 = 5 coins

 * $10 to $50 = 10 coins

 * $50 to $100 = 15 coins

 * more than $100 = 20 coins

PLUS if you submit at least one receipt each week for 5 straight weeks you will go “Hog Wild” and earn one spin on the slot machine for each receipt you upload.  I have earned up to 800 coins on a single spin!  And, if you SIGN UP now, you will earn 5 FREE spins after uploading your first receipt!!!!

They recently added even MORE ways to earn free coins!  You can scan the bar code of each item on qualifying receipts to earn 1 coin per item!  Simply click on the green barcode that appears next to a receipt.  Once in the receipt click the green barcode next to each item, once you scan the barcode of the item you will be awarded wiht extra coins!

rh scan 2

Occasionally they offer bonus surveys that usually take 1-2 minutes to complete and award you with extra coins as well!

They currently have 2 options for payment.  You can get an Amazon gift card or simply cash out!  The longer you let your coins accumulate, the better deal you get on your cash out options!

  • 1000 coins gets you $5
  • 1800 coins gets you $10 (10% better value)
  • 3200 coins gets you $20 (20% better value)
  • 4500 Coins gets you $30 (25% better value)

Kool-Aid Hair Dye!

July 29, 2014 By Heather Rodefer Leave a Comment

kool aid

Kool-Aid Hair Dye

(Shorter Hair? See Hair Chalk Details below)

Looking for a way to let your daughter express themselves that isn’t permanent?  Try Kool-Aid hair dye!  It is SUPER simple and washes out in a couple of weeks (I have been told Red will stay in MUCH longer).  I always wanted to dye my hair when I was younger, but wasn’t allowed.  So, I was thrilled to say, “Of course you can!” when my soon to be 10 year old daughter asked to color her hair with Kool-Aid!  It is simple, cheap, non permanent, and won’t damage her hair like typical hair dyes might! All it takes is 15 minutes, a little water, and some Kool-Aid packets!

Supplies

  • Kool-Aid in your choice of color (I used 2 packets to get a darker color)
  • 1 cup boiling water

Directions

  1. Boil one cup of water and mix in a small cup with your Kool-Aid
  2. Put hair into a low pony tail (the left over blue you see in this pic was done about 2.5 weeks ago, almost completely gone)pony hair
  3. Dip pony tail into Kool-Aid mixture and let sit for 6-7 minutes. (I used a butter knife to move the hair around every few minutes to ensure we got it all.  The color only covered the outside of the pony tail the first time we tried this)dipped hair
  4. Remove from Kool-Aid mixture, towel dry (you don’t want the Kool-Aid to stain your clothes!) and then finish with a blow dryer.  (not necessary, but I was told it makes the color last a little longer!)  Do not wash hair for 24 hours or some of the color will wash out!

purple hair

Have a child with shorter hair, or want something that washes out right away?  Try hair chalk!  My son (and my daughter) LOVE to use this as well.  It is great for parades, crazy hair days at school, and just every day fun!  We always use red and blue for the 4th of July to be extra festive!

You can get some for only $8.99 by going HERE.  This is a GREAT deal for hair chalk in an assortment of colors!

Bristol Renaissance Faire

Looking for a fun filled day of family activity?  Why not head over to the Bristol Renaissance Faire?  It is a guaranteed great time for all ages! Open Saturdays and Sundays (and Labor Day Monday) from 10Am until 7PM, rain or shine!  Easy to find, right off of I94 at the WI/IL border!  They have everything from shopping and food to shows and rides!  And where else can you get dressed up in period clothing and let loose?  Don’t worry, you don’t HAVE to dress the part, but my family thinks that is half the fun!

I mean, what little girl (or adult for that matter) would’t want to walk around in a pretty dress and flowers in her hair?

And where else can a strapping young lad run around in a kilt, carrying a dagger (they sell wooden and foam ones!) yelling “CHARGE!!!”braedon chargeAnd did I mention the shopping?  They sell clothes, gorgeous jewelry, hand made candles, weaponry, tapestries, leather bound journals, and SO MUCH MORE!!!!!!!

Oh,and the food!  Fresh chocolates, giant pickles, mushrooms, giant turkey legs, and the best ale around!  Give them a tip and they will ring a bell and yell HUZZAH!!!!!  The kids just LOVE that!

You will see women dressed as all sorts of faeries, trolls, the Queen and her Royal Court, sword fighters and jesters!

troll

Make sure you save enough time in your day to stop and watch some of the shows!  The Mud Show is an absolute MUST!  Grown men being silly throwing, dancing in, and eating mud…why would you even consider missing it?!  This is by far my children’s favorite show.  I personally LOVE MooNiE the Magnif’Cent!  A Mime with an attitude indeed!  And the audience participation makes this show even BETTER!!!!  And then there is always the classic jousting!  Pick your team, wave your flag, and cheer your Knight on through the all the activities!!

If you bring your children, I can almost guarantee they will insist on trying out some medieval rides!  It is fun to watch, because they are all powered by men!  The boat swing is a favorite among my kids!

renn faire ridesSo, what are you waiting for?  Head over HERE and sign up for their newsletter and you will get coupons sent straight to your inbox!  Looking for discounts on your admission and shopping?  Go on Labor Day (the last day of the faire) and a lot of places offer discounts to lessen inventory at the end of the season!  You can get some great deals!  Find all faire related info HERE!

How to Play Duck…Duck…Goose on Coupon Clippers Facebook

Ready to play Duck…Duck… Goose on Coupon Clippers Facebook Page?  And yup, WE WERE the FIRST page to start this game THREE years ago, developed by our very creative admin. Rita! It really is very simple!

How to Duck:

Randomly, at anytime when our Facebook Page is busy with fans commenting and liking on our posts, Donald Duck (Image above) will pop up on our page.

When you see the image above Pop Up, Comment “Duck” under the Photo. Every 10 comments, you can comment duck (Example of a previous Game below)

duck duck goose comments

Now remember, You can Duck every ten fan comments…Any more and you will be disqualified. For example… Jean commented at 8:02, after ten more people comment “Duck” she can comment “Duck again.” Warning: DO NOT OVER DUCK… if you do it to fast, Facebook will comment block you for commenting to fast in to short of time.

How you get “Goosed”:

At anytime… You can get “Goosed” (Example below) I will “Goose” someone and hyperlink their name (so they get a notification) In this comment I will not only hyperlink your name saying you have been goosed… but I will also put a link for you to go and put your email address in a blog comment and state you have been “Goosed”. YOU MUST DO THIS in 3 minutes or less! If you do not leave your email address and let us know you were “Goosed” in the required time we will start Ducking and goose a new member.

duck duck goose hyperlinkTips:

  • Be Patient – Sometimes facebook hides comments. (When you comment Duck) so we have to unhide them. NO WORRIES, if you commented Duck, it is there, it just may take us a few minutes to unhide them, but know WE DO SEE THEM. When we play Duck…Duck… Goose… we always have at least three admins. helping… One unhiding comments, one watching to make sure everyone follows the rules, and one watching for us to Goose someone and verify the winner.
  • Our “Commercials Count as a Duck” –  While playing you will see what we like to call “Our Commercials” (example below) you are not required to click on them (we do not mind if you do though, and it helps pass the time), they do count towards “Ducks” when you are waiting for the next ten comments.

duck duck goose ads

  • When & Why – We never have a set time to play, but a helpful tip would be to BE ACTIVE on our page when you see a post of ours. Like or comment. The more active our page is during the day, the more likely Donald will pop up with some fun prizes to win. (When fans are active liking and commenting, it lets us know a lot of you are out there at that time, and what better time to play a fun game!)
  • Hint – Sometimes… NOT ALWAYS… but sometimes we will give you a hint Donald just may be coming around! So if you see this picture (example below) chances are good he is about to make an appearance in the next hour or so 🙂

The Difference In “Redeemable At” and “Redeemable Only At”

March 12, 2014 By Heather Rodefer 5 Comments

The Difference In “Redeemable At” and “Redeemable Only At”

If you are like many others, you may be confused at the difference in coupons that print with “Redeemable at” and “Redeemable only at” on them!  There is a very simple explanation in how to use these coupons!

redeemable at couponYou can see in the above photo the coupon states “Redeemable at Walmart” in the lower right hand corner.  This coupon is a normal manufacturers coupon and can be used at ANY store.  They are just letting you know that Walmart will usually carry this product and the coupon can be used there if you so choose.

only at couponNotice in the Purex coupon above it states “Redeemable Only at Dollar General”.  The key word here is “ONLY”.  This coupon can only be used at Dollar General to purchase this item.

So, what have we learned?  If a coupon states “Redeemable ONLY at” you can use it at the store listed and no where else.  If a coupon states “Redeemable at” you may use it at the store of your choice!

Another Example from Coupon Site:

These BOTH will print saying “Mfg. Coupon at the top” ONLY the Jerky Coupon can be used at ANY STORE, EVEN THOUGH the Paper Coupon will print saying “Mfg. Coupon” at the top, because of the word ONLY, it is store specific!
