Burger Kings Nightmare King & Frozen Fanta Scary Black Cherry

October 22, 2018 By carry Leave a Comment

The Nightmare King is available at participating Burger King locations from Monday, October 22nd until Thursday, November 1st.  This sandwich includes a green bun (or in my case, lightly tinted green) quarter-pound beef patty, a crispy chicken fillet, melted American cheese, bacon, onions and mayonnaise. I ran out and grabbed one for supper. The only “Nightmare” was what I got in my order!

This is the what I opened up my wrapper to.

A shiny, wet looking, and just BARELY a tint of green bun. It almost looks like it was sprayed with a water bottle that had green food coloring.

But… lets see what the bottom looks like…

It certainly has to be better right?!?

NOPE!

Wait though… if you look closely at the bottom, towards the middle there is a green blob… does that count?!?

Maybe the inside looks better?

Well one thing is right…. IT does look scary!

I also ordered the Frozen Fanta Scary Black Cherry and a ten piece Chicken Nuggets for $1.00 (I got seven!!)

Overall, the sandwich tasted okay. I would give it a five on a scale of 10. As far as visual comparison to what it is suppose to look like, a ZERO!

The Frozen Fanta went in the garbage. In no way did it taste like black cherry, it was sour and not what I was expecting at all.

My son did enjoy the Chicken Nuggets, all seven of the 10 piece 🙂

I love my Dad!

June 16, 2013 By Micki Leave a Comment

With today being Father’s Day, I thought it was a perfect time to do a post about my Dad. I wish I had some pictures, but realized when going to do this, I do not! (SOMEDAY, that will change!)

Though my Dad and I are not as close as we used to be; I know I will always be Daddy’s Little Girl, or as he used to like to call me, Booper.

Most Dad’s are pretty Amazing, but mine is EXTRA special for a few reasons. He is that type of guy who does EVERYTHING for everyone else without thinking about himself. He has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I know.

My Dad is a big fisherman. During the summer, if he is not home, chances are he is out fishing. Most of the best memories I have are those early morning (and I mean EARLY mornings) of him getting me up, packing, and he and I going out on the boat. Of course on the way to the lake making a stop at a Gas Station and him filling the boat with our favorite snacks! Looking back I cannot say it was so much that I enjoyed the fishing, but more so, spending those mornings with him! It was our special time together. We would even do those late rainy night Night Crawler searches together! NO ONE COULD catch Night Crawlers like my Dad!

Another thing I love about my dad is he is a big kid at heart.  When it comes to Christmas, you just can’t stop him. He has always made sure for myself, and my brother and sister it is the best day of the year! In our house, it was not us kids who were up bright and early, it was my Dad! My Mom and Dad making breakfast, getting the tree filled with presents and making it extra special for us year after year. By the time the sun was coming up, if you had not woken up yet, you better believe he was getting you up!  I remember the first year my husband and I were together, living on our own in an apartment. We did not have a car yet, and at 5am, there was a knock on our door! Oh my my poor husband, he still reminds me of that day every year Christmas Morning as we rush to make it over to their house bright and early! Today, this tradition carries on with his grandchildren, he still is making Christmas EXTRA SPECIAL for us all!

Thank You Dad for always being there, the amazing childhood memories, and for not only being a Number 1 Dad, but now just as an Amazing Grandfather to our kids. I may not have always been the “Ideal Child” growing up (okay, not even close) but I am the person I am today because of you after a few bumps along the road!

Love You!

~ Booper

Miley Cyrus, SHE DID WHAT?!?

August 13, 2012 By Micki Leave a Comment

Miley Cyrus – SHE DID WHAT?

Yup, that was the first words out of my mouth when my husband told me Miley Cyrus shaved her head. I was shocked, intrigued, and I guess a little sad, sad because she has always had such beautiful hair.

Any of us who have children, have watched this young lady grow up right in front of our eyes on the Disney Channel as Hannah Montana, that crazy fun young girl full of spirit, life and mischief. Since the age of 12 when she first entered our living rooms we have all loved her and enjoyed watching our children look up to her and be inspired by her.

Though we all knew it was coming, it was very sad to see her leave her role as Hannah last year in 2011, and I will be the first to admit, though my child is now 19 (same age as Miley) we all watched the final episode, and yes even shed a few tears.  But it was expected, she was now 19, Hannah had to graduate and continue on with new adventures in her life,  just like Miley had to do. She would move on, keep her Southern values and become a well-known Music Star. (Or so that is what we all wanted hoped.)

Next thing we know pictures are surfacing of once innocent Miley smoking out of a bong, very odd pictures of her and her father are all over the news, and she is engaged to be married? Is this the next childhood star going down the wrong path? Is she making the right choices or just a typical teenager trying to find their way in this world? I do not think any of us can say we have always made the right decisions in life can we? Life is all about making mistakes and learning from them.

Am I disappointed she shaved her head and bleached it? I guess not so much disappointed as concerned for her. Worried there is a little girl who lost her childhood and right now is doing everything she can to find out exactly who she is and where she wants to go in her life, for seven years, from the age of 12 to 19 she has had to be the Disney Good Girl, I think she deserves the chance to spread her wings and fly and find out who she really wants to be in life.

So as a Mother, I may not agree with the skimpy outfits, the tattoos and radical changes, but as a Mother of a 19-year-old, and being a teenage girl at one point myself, I do understand, I will try to not  judge, and I will wish her all the success in finding what she is looking for in life <3

Stockpiling or Hoarding?

July 6, 2012 By Micki 1 Comment

A sensitive subject in the Coupon World I know, but one I feel that needs to be covered. On Midwest Coupon Clippers Facebook Page, I have often heard, “I would LOVE to see a picture of your Stockpile!” Well Folks, You would be surprised to know, I ONLY have TWO Shelf Units in my kitchen. YES…ONLY TWO, and NOT all the shelves are for my “Stockpile.”

Yes I own a Coupon Blog, Yes I shop the Sale Cycles, Yes I am a big double Coupon Shopper…BUT that DOES NOT MEAN I am a Hoarder! On my blog page, Midwest Coupon Clippers, you WILL NOT SEE the bragging pictures of shelves and shelves full of product.

Honestly, I DO NOT SEE THE POINT. Sure, I could get 100 Razors, 100 boxes of noodles, 100 boxes of cereal, etc. for FREE…BUT WHY?

Ever had these little guys?

Once you get Pantry Moths, Getting rid of them is NO SIMPLE or in expensive task! And if you over the top stockpile, I guarantee YOU WILL GET THEM! They are already in the food you are buying. Flour, Pastas, Cereals, even Dog Food. Once this happens, ALL your Stockpile, ALL the money spent on buying coupon inserts or the ink and paper printing them is wasted.

I think often the “Stockpiling Obsession” is not about using the products, it is about that little “Rush” you get seeing everything you got for so cheap or often FREE.

If you need that feeling…that rush…that excitement of getting that deal… ADD TO THAT EXCITING FEELING and Donate these products you are “Scoring.” There honestly is no better feeling in the world then knowing you are helping someone in need! Be it another human being, or Animal. Donate, Donate, Donate.

Now, Let me explain to you what I DO Stock up on for our family personally! I shop sale cycles. (You can learn more how to do this HERE) We use a lot of BBQ Sauce, so when the summer sales hit and the coupons are out, I grab usually twenty to thirty to last throughout the year. For example last June, I got 25 bottles of Sweet Baby Rays FREE Thanks to the Sales and Coupons that were out. A few weeks ago I did the same for this year. About eight months ago I got $1/1 Gatorade Coupons, When my store ran these on sale, I not only got the Gatorade for FREE but it also turned this coupon into a $$ MoneyMaker $$ for me which in turn I could use the overage towards other groceries, like produce and meats. In this case, I stockpiled 50 to 75 Gatorades with Summer coming up at that point and Gatorade being one of my sons favorite beverages when he is out doing his sports, I knew these would be used. Another example, I recently got Snasuage Dog Treats for FREE with a Coupon and a Sale. I pre-ordered 30 of these, Kept 15 for our family dogs, and donated the other half. Besides these products, I DO NOT have an over abundance of any other products. At most maybe six of some, four or so of another.

Remember Folks, there is a FINE LINE between stockpiling and hoarding, which time and time again I see people crossing to the dark side. Stockpiling takes up room (A LOT OF ROOM) MONEY and Time! Why not keep a reasonable amount, and donate the rest? You will find a system that works right for you by buying less on a more frequent schedule. You will spend less, not waste as much, and MOST IMPORTANT be able to donate your extras and HELP OTHERS!
