How Facebook Changes Effected Our Page!
Why we need YOU…
Hello Clippers! I wanted to take a minute to show you with photos exactly how IMPORTANT it is for you, the Fans, to help us with interaction on our Facebook Page at Wisconsin Coupon Clippers.
As most of you know, over the last six months Facebook has changed how often our posts go into our fans Facebook Feed. It is their new “Algorithm”. They decide which posts you see, when you see them, or if you even see them at all. One would think if you have your page set to “Get all Notifications” (Example Below) from a certain Facebook Page, you would in fact SEE all the posts, but that is not the case! It has been brought to our attention, that this has gone one step further…. Some fans are reporting though they did have “Get All Notifications” checked, if they have been away from the computer for over 72 hours, when they return, it is unchecked for our page.
Does this make sense? NOT SO MUCH…. Most of us have spent YEARS liking certain Facebook Pages that we INDEED want to see in our Feed. BUT bottom line, the business pages that pay to have their posts seen, get top priority. THOUGH this is a PAIN in the butt for us small businesses that offer a FREE service and can not afford to do the “Pay per post”, Facebook indeed is a business, and in the long run, they have to make a profit, I think more fans would be upset with a “Monthly Fee.”
The key to keeping the smaller Facebook pages that you enjoy active is to INTERACT when and if you can! Give some likes, give some comments, and share some posts if it is something that interests you! I will give some photo examples below showing what a HUGE DIFFERENCE this makes. YOU, the fans, helping us is what is going to keep our Facebook Page going!
Example 1 – Interaction we like to see! WHAT gets us out into more fans feeds! WHEN you like or comment, it triggers Facebook’s “Algorithm” and says “OH MY, people like this post, lets show it to MORE PEOPLE!” so they feed it out to more fans…. more fans comment… they send it out to more fans… and so on!Example 2 – With ONLY 2 likes and 1 Comment… This post only went out to 91 People. In this situation, if a few more people comment or like, it will go out to a few more, and so on.
Example 3 – DEAD in the Water! No people liked or commented on this post… so it signaled Facebook’s “Algorithm” to NOT send it to more fans feeds.
So to sum it up… KEEPING our Wisconsin Coupon Clippers (Nationwide) Facebook page going, WE NEED OUR FANS HELP on posts. We have asked a few times on the page, then for awhile it goes GREAT… but then always dwindles off to just a handful of fans who are always helping us out on some posts. WE OBVIOUSLY do not expect every fan to comment or like every post, but what we do ask, is when and if you can, please do. The more active our page is, the more our admins. on the page get pumped up to help find the deals, which in turn means keeping our page one of the best! When we have times like we have this last week, with not a lot of interaction or fan feed back…there are days we feel like we are talking to ourselves.
THANK YOU in advance, for helping keep WCC going strong for YEARS to come!
