The New Disney $1 off Disney or Marvel Item Printable Coupon that popped up on Red Plum Coupons. Is it ok to Save Money on Disney Items this way?
I guess it comes down to your moral compass. I realize A LOT of Deal Blogs are telling their fans to go out and print this coupon and head to the Dollar Tree because the Coupon says “On ANY Disney or Marvel Item.” YES, I realize by the wording, TECHNICALLY you could go out and buy some Disney Stickers or Disney Pacifers, because TECHNICALLY those are Disney products aren’t they? And as Couponers, we are taught to read the wording on the coupon correct? Well Folks, LETS NOT JUST READ what we want and stop after the word ANY! Yes, KEEP READING! The Coupon also says “This Coupon good only on the purchase of products indicated.” Couponers are taught NOT to go on a picture when it comes to a coupon, BUT in this case, we need to keep reading… The product pictured is VITAMINS, and the company reimbursing the stores for this coupon is NATURESMART, their number is 1-888-VITAHELP. How about another “HERES YOUR SIGN that this is a Vitamin Coupon”, it is under the Drugstore tab.
Now, Lets follow this coupon once shall we? Let’s say you go out and get a bunch of FREE Disney Items at the Dollar Tree. The Dollar Tree who JUST STARTED excepting coupons on Sunday, August 26th, gets flooded with thousands of these coupons, and turns around to submit these coupons to Nature Smart, with their transactions records. Nature Smart will see these coupons WERE NOT used on their products, they were used to buy Stickers or expandable Disney Washcloths. THEY ARE NOT going to reimburse Dollar Tree for these Coupons, which in turn the Dollar Tree is going to have a HUGE LOSS. Not a good way to start their couponing experience is it?
Folks, as couponers we are the FIRST to complain when stores start changing and limiting their coupon policies, we throw our hands up in disgust when cashiers read over the coupons with a microscope, but then we go out and take advantage of stores this way? How would you feel if this was your store? If this was your business? THINK ABOUT IT!
And to my fellow bloggers who are promoting this coupon and telling your fans to go out and do this… SHAME ON YOU! Is that small commission you get for the coupon prints from your fans really worth it? NO THANKS, I will keep my moral compass in the right direction compared to the few dollars I will get for some coupon prints. We are leading these couponers in the right direction, they look to use for what is right and wrong! How about instead of teaching them to do unethical couponing or teaching them how to stockpile HUNDREDS of items, we teach them how to do good in this economy, save money the right way, and with their extras DONATE.

- 1¼ cups whole wheat pastry flour
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa
- 1¼ tsp baking powder
- ¾ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 whole banana, mashed
- ½ cup raw sugar
- ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
- ¼ cup plant-based milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup shredded zucchini
- ½ cup raw sugar (optional)
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease muffin pan and set aside. If using paper liners, lightly spray inside of liners with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Whisk flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon together. In another bowl, cream mashed banana with applesauce and sugar (use extra 1/2 cup for a very sweet, dessert-like muffin). Add in soymilk, vanilla, zucchini and any other optional add-ins you might like such as vegan chocolate chips or chopped raw walnuts. Stir until evenly combined. Add flour mix to wet mix in 3-4 batches and stir until just combined. Spoon batter into greased muffin pan and bake 18-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Miley Cyrus – SHE DID WHAT?
Yup, that was the first words out of my mouth when my husband told me Miley Cyrus shaved her head. I was shocked, intrigued, and I guess a little sad, sad because she has always had such beautiful hair.
Any of us who have children, have watched this young lady grow up right in front of our eyes on the Disney Channel as Hannah Montana, that crazy fun young girl full of spirit, life and mischief. Since the age of 12 when she first entered our living rooms we have all loved her and enjoyed watching our children look up to her and be inspired by her.
Though we all knew it was coming, it was very sad to see her leave her role as Hannah last year in 2011, and I will be the first to admit, though my child is now 19 (same age as Miley) we all watched the final episode, and yes even shed a few tears. But it was expected, she was now 19, Hannah had to graduate and continue on with new adventures in her life, just like Miley had to do. She would move on, keep her Southern values and become a well-known Music Star. (Or so that is what we all wanted hoped.)
Next thing we know pictures are surfacing of once innocent Miley smoking out of a bong, very odd pictures of her and her father are all over the news, and she is engaged to be married? Is this the next childhood star going down the wrong path? Is she making the right choices or just a typical teenager trying to find their way in this world? I do not think any of us can say we have always made the right decisions in life can we? Life is all about making mistakes and learning from them.
Am I disappointed she shaved her head and bleached it? I guess not so much disappointed as concerned for her. Worried there is a little girl who lost her childhood and right now is doing everything she can to find out exactly who she is and where she wants to go in her life, for seven years, from the age of 12 to 19 she has had to be the Disney Good Girl, I think she deserves the chance to spread her wings and fly and find out who she really wants to be in life.
So as a Mother, I may not agree with the skimpy outfits, the tattoos and radical changes, but as a Mother of a 19-year-old, and being a teenage girl at one point myself, I do understand, I will try to not judge, and I will wish her all the success in finding what she is looking for in life <3
